Phenylpropanoids from Crataegus pinnatifida and their chemotaxonomic importance
2014
Abstract Phenylpropanoids are widely distributed within the Rosaceae family. In this study, 14 phenylpropanoids, including a new phenol, 7,8- erythro -7-methoxysyringylglycerol ( 7 ), and a new sesquilignan, pinnatifidanin A I ( 14 ), were isolated and identified from the seeds of Crataegus pinnatifida . The biosynthetic relationships among the compounds 1 – 14 are proposed. The presence of these congenetic phenylpropanoids and their biosynthetic relationships may be used for identification of species of Crataegus .
