The tonic inhibition mediated by GABAA receptor in substantia gelatinosa neurons

Abstract We investigated GABAergic inhibitory tonic currents in the substantia gelatinosa (SG) neurons in mouse spinal cord. A population of neurons in SG depicted the tonic currents. The pharmacological properties examined by GABA A receptor subunit specific drugs suggest at least three types of the GABA A receptor subunit combinations for the tonic currents.
