Through-wall detection of human breathing rate using compressive sensing technique
2017
In this paper, a non-invasive detection of human breathing rate using a stepped-frequency continuous wave (SFCW) radar by using compressive sensing is presented. A small number of randomly selected frequencies and slow-time samples are used to recover the range profiles and respiratory rate signatures. A full-wave electromagnetic scattering model and through-wall plane wave spectrum approach are incorporated to calculate the scattering fields from a breathing human behind the wall. Real-life measurements using SFCW radar are also processed to validate the simulated results.
