Experiment on Seedling Cultivation by Cuttage of Jatropha curcas

Experiments on seedling cultivation of Jatropha curcas were carried out in Zhuji,Zhejiang province with different provenances,ABT treatments,lignification degrees and length of cuttings,date of cuttage,cutting mediums and leaves kept.The result showed that lignification degree and provenance was the most important factor for survival rate of cuttings.Current year softwood had advantage of easier rooting.Survival rate of each treatment was more than 75%.Seedlings by branch cuttings of J.curcas introduced to Zhuji had survival rate of over 70%.The best treatment for J.curcas cutting was as follows,current year softwood of 30 cm new shoots with leaves,treated by ABT of 1000 mg/L.The survival rate could reach 95%.
