The excitation of synchronous generator based on fuzzy-single neuron PID intelligent controller

Probing into the nonlinearities and time variation problems, for the excitation of synchronous generator system, the strategy of hybrid intelligent control is proposed. According to the strategy, the combination of parameters-adjustable Fuzzy controller and modified single neuron PID controller promotes the controlling performance. At the dynamic stage, the Fuzzy controller with adjusted parameters is used to improve the adaptivity and rapidity of response. The proportional coefficient, which is the part of single neuron PID controller, is regulated by the expert controlling idea. At the steady stage, the single neuron PID controller reduces the overshooting and increasing stability. A simulation model of a single-machine infinite-bus system is constructed by Matlab/Simulink. Simulation research results show that the performance of new hybrid controller is better than that of the traditional AVR and single neuron PID controller. This hybrid intelligent controller not only displays a satisfactory stable and dynamic performance, but also improves the robust in different conditions.
