Wavelet Based Numerical Solution of Elasto- hydrodynamic Lubrication Problems via Lifting Scheme

Wavelet theory is a relatively new and an emerging area in mathematical research, particularly wavelets are successfully used in fast algorithms for easy implementation. Elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication model involves coupled system as well as highly nonlinearity, is very difficult to solve numerically by standard methods to obtain better accuracy with low CPU time. The wavelet based schemes are appropriate to get a sufficient accuracy in low CPU time. In this paper, we present the wavelet based numerical solution of elastohydrodynamic lubrication line and point contact problems using lifting scheme. The proposed scheme gives higher accuracy in terms of super convergence in less CPU time, which has been illustrated through the test problems.
