PERCEPCIÓN SOBRE EL PERFIL DEL TUTOR DE TESIS EN LA UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DE ASUNCIÓN 2004-2014

Some results of the research contained in the doctoral thesis of the author are shown around the factors associated with the elaboration of master´s and doctoral theses of the years 2000-2014, where the selection of the contents made for the present article, had as objective to rescue the perception of both students and tutors regarding the expected profile of thesis tutors. The design was a qualitative-quantitative research, with 189 postgraduate students as sample and 6 graduates, and tutors who participated in the qualitative segment, applying a structured questionnaire and an in-depth interview. The results show the high expected profile of the tutors both in the dimension of methodological competences, as formative and especially the interpersonal competence. Likewise, the need to revalue the activity of the tutor within the University was evident, attending to his key work in achieving terminal efficiency in postgraduate studies.
