Ground Fault Active Compensation in Emulated Distribution Grid of 10 kV

2020
MV distribution grids are often operated with arc suppression coils compensating dominating reactive fault current component when single-phase ground fault occurs. The paper deals with an active compensation in emulated distribution grid of 10 kV performed by a proposed three-phase active fault compensator, based on power semiconductor converter. It enables a complete fault current compensation without residual components and to address resonance-related problems.
