A Facile α-Iodination Reaction of Unsaturated Amides.

Abstract A novel and mild α-iodination of carboxamides was developed. Unsaturated amides could be converted to the α-iodoamides in moderate to good yields by treatment with I 2 in the presence of s -collidine.
