Application and development of NH3 to control coal-fired power plant flue gas

2013
The emissions of CO2,SO2 and NOx can cause acid rain, greenhouse effect, ozone layer depletion and other atmospheric environmental issues. Reducing and controlling the emissions of gas pollutants is the essential requirements in achieving the goal of clean production and the sustainable energy development. As an emerging technique of managing the gas pollutants from the coal-fired plant,Ammonia method has many advantages such as high removal efficiency of pollutants, lower energy consumption, low secondary pollution and recycling byproduct. It started to get more and more attention, and has been successful application in some coal-fired power plant. The techniques to gas pollutants by ammonia method are reviewed and analyzed. Also, the authors present the predictions for the emission reduction of pollutant gas from the flue gas in the coal-fired plant, and conclude that ammonia method have good economic, social and environmental benefits and broad development prospects in the aspect of controlling the pollutant gas from the coal-fired plant.
