Los fantasmas del exterminio: el triángulo rosa del movimiento de disidencia sexual colombiano, 1985-1989

2021
The article investigates the use that the Colombian sexual dissidence movement gave to the pink triangle in the 80s as part of a process of framing. Specifically, it studies how the historical narrative of the persecution of homosexuals by National Socialism was re-signified by Colombian activists in the context of the deepening of the internal armed conflict. For this, sources little worked by the national historiography are used: documents produced by the most active organization at the time, the Colectivo Orgullo Gay (CORG), specifically the magazine De Ambiente. It concludes that the presence of the pink triangle in Colombia is part of a larger framing process carried out by CORG, which uses the image of systematic persecution to make sense of the emergence of phenomena of social cleansing linked to paramilitarism.
