Eco-translatological Exploration on Jinsuo Ji Translated by Eileen Chang

2012
Eileen Chang is an outstanding writer and translator in Chinese literature in 20 th century. She translated many of her works into English, which makes an extraordinary phenomenon in translation—self-translation.In light of eco-translatology,this paper will analyze Chang's fiction Jinsuo Ji and its English version. It shows that Chang's translation philosophies and practice embody the ideas such as"adaptation and selection","translator-centeredness"and so on.The version of Jinsuo Ji is successful because Chang flexibly made adaptive choices among multiple dimensions of language, culture and communication to achieve the maximal equivalence between the original texts and the translation.
