Data Analysis Systems in European and PJM Electricity Markets and Suggestions for Zhejiang

With the advancement of the power system reform in Zhejiang province, especially the operation of the spot market, the amount of operation data and information in the electricity market has increased significantly. However, due to the lack of a mature and complete data analysis system, it is difficult to effectively utilize the massive and fast-growing power market operation data to analyze and evaluate the market operation status. Therefore, it is essential to learn from the construction experience of foreign power markets such as European and PJM markets, to establish a mature and effective electricity market data analysis system (EMDAS) for Zhejiang. In this paper, EMDASs in Europe and PJM markets are firstly reviewed from two aspects: information disclosure mechanism (IDM) and market evaluation system (MES). Moreover, the commons and differences between the two EMDASs are deeply analyzed and concluded. On this basis, suggestions for the EMDAS construction of Zhejiang are put forward.
