Surface morphology and corrosion inhibitors of acrylate/carbon nanotubes nanocomposites coated on mild steel

2014
The conducting polymer nanocomposites of acrylate/carbon nanotubes were coated on mild steel to investigate corrosion performance for coating application. Corrosion protection performance of acrylate/carbon nanotubes nanocomposites thin film coating was determined by immersed in 3.5 % sodium chloride. Carbon nanotubes with various weight percentages (0.2 %, 0.4 %, 0.6 %, 0.8 % and 1.0 %) blending into acrylate and deposited on mild steel by using sol-gel method. Atomic force microscope (AFM) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was used to determine the surface morphology and corrosion protection of mild steel immersed in 3.5 % of sodium chloride, (NaCl) that coated by acrylate/carbon nanotubes nanocomposites thin film as an inhibitors for corrosion protection.
