Potential geographic distribution of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel in Tibet.

Oriental fruit fly,Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel,was one of the most important quarantine pests in the world,which could damage more than 250 kinds of tropical and subtropical fruits and vegetables.The potential geographical distribution of oriental fruit fly in China,especially in Tibet,was studied in this paper by using CLIMEX and ArcGIS,which was based on the biological data and known distribution of oriental fruit fly,and meteorological data from 760 weather sites in China,here,Tibet had 39 sites.The results presented that the suitable areas of oriental fruit fly involved 21 provinces,municipalities and autonomous region,and there were 15 suitable sites in Tibet,in which Gyalsa and Chayu were in the moderate suitability.The paper defines the potential geographic distribution of Oriental fruit fly in China,which constructed the theory basis and technical support for scientifically forming of quarantine policy and measure for the fruit fly in China,especially in Tibet.
