A Hammerstein-Wiener Mean Value Engine Model for Small Automatic Motorcycle Engine

2020
Research and development about spark ignition engine that used on motorcycle were still being done in Indonesia, especially in the academic environment. However, most of them have not used a specific model for motorcycle engine but still relied on generalized spark ignition mean value engine model that was not developed recently. Therefore, the aim of this research is to construct a mean value engine model (MVEM) of small automatic scooter engine to support future researches that use the same engine. The main problem that find in the process of modeling an engine is the the nonlinear characteristics of the engine. Another problem is the engine itself is a black box system that can be analyzed only by examining its input and output, making the modeling process more difficult to be done. In this paper, the MVEM of small automatic scooter engine is modeled by using Hammerstein-Wiener system identification model. The constructed model is able to describe the characteristics and the dynamics of small automatic scooter engine.
