Clearances of Small Solutes in Hemodiafiltration and Paired Filtration Dialysis

Hemodiafiltration (HDF) can be performed both in one single hemofilter in which the two processes, dialysis and hemofiltration, are simultaneously carried out, or in two separated devices (Paired Filtration Dialysis, PFD) one of which works in ultrafiltration and the other one as a traditional dialyzer. Aim of this study was to compare the performances of HDF and PFD treatments on the basis of “in vivo” clearance tests.
