Design of DC Bias Voltage Source of Single-Photon Detector Based on MAX5026

This paper discussed the special operating principles of Avalanche Photodiode(APD) which is the core device of single-photon detectors.On the basis of the discussion,a method of DC bias Voltage source of APD with PWM boost converter MAX5026 was introduced here.The major points of this circuit design were presented and to some extent the circuit performance was analyzed and explanted.This low power DC bias source circuit with high stability and low ripple output was proved to perform well.It can meet requirements of power supply of APD avalanche puncture at the time of single-photon detection and proved to be an ideal APD DC bias voltage source.
