Ticks, Dogs, and Humans: An Endangered Community

Dogs and humans live in a close community and thus several parasites have developed methods to infect both host groups. This ability has increased considerably their chances of survival, since the vectors (leeches, mosquitoes, flies, ticks, etc.) live in different biotopes.
