Thermophoretically Enhanced Deposition of Sub-Micrometer Particles from a Hot Turbulent Gas
1993
An experimental investigation has been made into the effect of thermophoresis on the deposition of sub-micrometer particles from a hot turbulent gas onto a cold surface. This effect was measured for particles with a diameter of 0.3 and 0.023 μm using a fluorimetric technique. For isothermal deposition the results were found to be consistent with other studies. A comparison with the other theoretical studies was found to overpredict thermophoretically enhanced deposition.
