A Novel FDTD Algorithm for Analyzing Imperfect Microwave Filters

In this paper, we propose a novel finite difference time domain (FDTD) algorithm to design microwave filters with imperfect conductors. For this purpose, we developed a new mesh function to describe the thin film material. Then, we applied our algorithm for the analysis of a microwave resonator performance. The effects of finite conductivity and thin film thickness having also been investigated. Computed results are in good agreement with simulated data using CST EM tool.
