Expressions of RNA binding motif protein 6-RNA binding motif protein 5 fusion gene in breast neoplasms tissue

Objective To study the existence of RNA binding motif protein 6-RNA binding motif protein 5 ( RBM6-RBM5 ) fusion gene and its expression in breast neoplasms tissue.Methods The RBM6-RBM5 fusion gene expression was detected by using nested-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the tumor and normal tissues.Results The expression of RBM6-RBM5 fusion gene was positive in 4 cases of breast neoplasms tissues with the relative expression level being 0.52 ± 0.02,0.61 ± 0.04,0.58 ± 0.05 aud 0.65 ±0.03 respectively.There were two cases of breast neoplasms negative for RBM6-RBM5 fusion gene.In all normal breast tissues,the RBM6-RBM5 fusion gene expression was negative. Conclusion The RBM6-RBM5 fusion gene resides in the breast neoplasms tissue. The expression of RBM6-RBM5 fusion gene may be related to the development of breast neoplasms.
