Flagellin domain that affects H antigenicity of Escherichia coli K-12.

Escherichia coli K-12 mutants with altered flagellum antigenicity were isolated by introducing random deletions into the flagellin gene. The deletions were identified in the central region of the gene. It is suggested that this region corresponds to the flagellin domain molecule which affects flagellum antigenicity. Images
