Active power filter adapted to electric drive

Currently, the most effective devices for compensating non-linear distortion and reactive power are active power filters (APF). Existing APF have complex power structures and control systems based on indirect methods for determining the required current, which increases the cost of APF, reduces their reliability and the quality of APF compensation for nonlinear distortions and reactive power. therefore, the development and research of an APF adapted for operation in the system “Frequency Converter (FC) - Asynchronous Motor (AM)”, eliminating the disadvantages of existing APF's, providing high quality compensation for reactive power and nonlinear distortions, and increasing the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the system “FC-AM” with the power grid, is an urgent task.
