This paper aims to analyze the competitiveness of exports of sugar and alcohol in Sao Paulo State in Brazil over the period 2000 to 2010. To assess the competitiveness of exports in rela- tion to Brazil, we used the indicator of revealed comparative advantage. It was found that the State of Sao Paulo presented competitiveness in exports of sugar and alcohol in relation to Brazil, since the IVCR calculated for the entire period of analysis was greater than unity for both products throu- ghout the analysis period.
