The present invention relates to an adaptive display adjustment method and a head-mounted display device, the head-mounted display device comprising: a storage unit, used for storing adjustment records, the adjustment records comprising adjustment parameters corresponding to dioptre and/or pupillary distance; a display unit, comprising two display modules, each display module comprising a miniature display apparatus and an optical module connected to the miniature display apparatus; a retrieval unit, used for querying a corresponding adjustment record of the storage unit according to a query request and retrieving corresponding adjustment parameters; an adjustment unit, used for producing a driving signal according to the adjustment parameters, and adjusting the distances between the miniature display apparatuses and the corresponding optical modules thereof and/or the distance between the two display modules. The adaptive display adjustment method and the head-mounted display device implement adaptive display adjustment of the head-mounted display device, and provide a smart adjustment means required for adapting to the sight of different users.
