The Post-human Vampire

The Post-human is that which exceeds the current definition of human meaning nearly all vampires are Post-human in someway. Indeed, Deleuze and Guattari talk of vampires when discussing human becoming, of being different or ‘other’ than they currently are. In this sense vampires from the folkloric revenant to the cyborg undead, all represent something more than their original human state. This article considers the differing kinds of post-human vampire and whether they envision a future beyond the human or one without it.
