Frequency stabilizing method using PSCL (phase slip-controlled loop)

1989
A novel frequency stabilizing method using PSCL (phase-slip-controlled loop) is presented for controlling the radio frequencies of cellular mobile radio units. In this method, two newly developed ICs, a crystal oscillator IC with a heat sensor and a control IC for the PSCL, are used. Experiments show that the radio frequency can be stabilized within +or-0.3 ppm, while conventional crystal oscillators have a frequency stability of approx. 10 ppm in a range of -30 degrees C to 90 degrees C. >
