Caracterización genética de Zostera noltii (Zosteraceae, Magnoliophyta) en Lanzarote, islas Canarias

2007
In the last years many changes have occurred in the Arrecife shore, Lanzarote Island, that have produced a worsening of ellgrass meadows (Zostera noltii), this been considered an endangered species in Canary Islands with a high risk of extinction. The surviving units represent clonal individuals, which reinforces previous diagnosis on the critical state of this natural population. At the end of this article are discussed, in a population genetics context, different considerations about a future plan for restoration of the natural ecosystem of Arrecife shore.
