Differential Effect of second-generation antipsychotic onprolactinemia: Initial 6 Weeks of Therapy
2007
First versus repeated psychotic episodes were chracterized by
significantly higher hyperprolactinemia. Among the tested
second generation antipsychotics, amisulpride and risperidone
had a marked prolactin elevating effect, requiring therefore
more frequent monitoring of prolactinemia and the associated
undesirable effects than quetiapine, zotepine and olanzapine.
