NEUTRAL BEAM INJECTION ON TORE SUPRA: FIRST RESULTS

ABSTRACT The Tore Supra Neutral Beam Injectors are based on the recovery of the unneutralized fraction of the beam (Energy Recovery). Three out of the six injectors have been recently put into operation in the range of 15-22 A for the extracted current and of 60-80 keV for the beam energy. More than 1.5 MW have been injected into Tore Supra. The active and passive protections against breakdowns in the H.V. circuit have been improved. These modifications, as well as the first results of the injection into the Tore Supra plasma are presented.
