Remediation of uranium milling site Lengenfeld/ Vogtland, needs and objectives

The tailings pond Lengenfeld was used to deposit the residues of the uranium ore processing. An investigation program was realised to clarify environmental impact caused by release of radioactive and non radioactive pollutants via water pathway. The assessment was done both for the present and for the long-term situation. The results were used to give recommendations for the remediation of the tailings pond.
