Electromagnetic response of chains of spheres: Dynamics to quasi-statics

Abstract We calculate the response of infinite chains of spherical particles using different techniques for carrying out lattice sums. The focus is on efficient and accurate methods, their use in establishing Green’s functions connected with density of states functions, their low-frequency limits and their use in homogenization theories.
