Analysis and Design of a Reduced-size Marchand Balun

The size reduction technique for coupled-line is discussed and the formula for reduced-size coupled-line is proposed in this paper. A reduced-size Marchand Balun, which operates at center frequency of 2 GHz, is then designed by this method. The measured results show the validity of the method.
