Tiefenmigrationen in der deutschen Erdgasindustrie

2002
In the exploration and development of oil and gas reservoirs in Germany more and more modern methods are applied. The main emphasis in seismic processing is put on 3D Velocity Model Building and 3D Pre- and Post Stack Depth Migration. The fast development in information technology permits nowadays computer-bound operations with large quantities of data. This paper gives an overview ofBEB's Depth Migration methodology. Due to the long acquisition period and not always uniform recording parameters a substantial expenditure was necessary to merge the individual 3D Surveys. This was the general prerequisite to generate surface covering supraregional depth models. Using this geological information Post Stack Depth Migrations have been carried out, which cover meanwhile approx. 80 % of the acquired 3D-seismic areas in Northwest Germany. The standardized Pre Stack data are the basis of selective Pre Stack Depth Migration projects. To generate a model for the Post Stack Depth Migration NMO velocities from the standard processing are taken into account. In case of the Pre Stack Depth Migration additional traveltime information from the seismic (RMO correction) is used to update the velocity model. Among others Depth Migrations increasingly form the basis of BEB's well proposals.
