Switching Behavior of Tripodal Molecules on Au(111) Studied With STM
2013
The properties of a molecular junction are determined not only by the molecule itself but also by the contact to the electrodes. As a consequence, even for a molecule that does not exhibit intrinsic switching mechanisms in the gas phase, the whole junction might change its properties due to changes in the coupling to the electrodes.
