Analysis of carbon emission status under the carbon neutral target in China for Earth’s atmospheric balance

2021
On September 22, 2020, President Xi Jinping pointed out that "China's carbon dioxide emissions will strive to reach a peak by 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060." at the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly. It accelerates the process of reaching the peak of carbon emissions, and is also the only way to lead global climate governance. On the basis of expounding the international background, climate change, China 's carbon peak targets and challenges under the carbon peak targets, this paper also analyses the changing characteristics of carbon emissions under the influence of the epidemic in 2020, and then makes clear the outstanding current problems in China, such as the large amount of carbon emissions, the high proportion of coal consumption, the proportion of energy structure and so on. Lay the groundwork for China's carbon peak in 2030.
