1ST PRIZE EXHIBIT : TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT FOR EXPO 2000

This article describes the core of the traffic control and information center being implemented in Hanover, Germany, in anticipation of the EXPO 2000 event. The following systems have been designed for implementing traffic control: variable message signs, a tidal flow system for contra-flow traffic, variable park and ride signs, dynamic parking guidance systems, traveler information, incident management urban traffic control system, and a comprehensive traffic information system.
