A REVIEW OF THE NOISE RELATED AUSTRALIAN DESIGN RULES AND ENGINE BRAKE NOISE: DISCUSSION PAPER FOR COMMENT

This report compares vehicle noise standards (ADR) in Australia with those of the USA, Europe and Japan. It examines differences in testing protocols, data handling and in-service regulation of noise standards. It also examines engine brake noise test data from around the world and proposes a range of options and initiatives for improving new vehicle and in-service noise levels. (a)
