son los valores del cuerpo comunes en entornos rurales y urbanos
2021
Introduction: identifying the values of the body of a social group means highlighting its
particularities. Two social contexts are configured defined by their belonging to rural or
urban environments.
Objectives: the main objective is to find out if there are differences between these
categories, in the body values, and if they are statistically significant.
Methods: the study compares 367 students from urban environments and 169 from rural
environments, making a total of 536 students of 1st Baccalaureate in the 2017/18
academic year. The measuring instrument is the test developed by Casares and Collados
(1998) that classifies the body values in 10. The data treatment is carried out by means of
two differentiated analyzes, of mean values and of preferred values. Descriptive statistics
and inferential statistics are calculated.
Results: the analysis of mean values finds the greatest differences in the values of the
religious, intellectual and dynamic body, however none of these differences can be
considered statistically significant. For its part, the analysis of preferred values highlights
the main differences in the pleasure, affective-social and biological values.
Discussion: the results draw a student population without great differences between rural
and urban areas, despite the different presumed idiosyncrasies between both
environments.
Conclusions: this opens a debate on the differences that could be considered in
educational plans depending on the context, underlining the importance of preserving the
rural essence of the minority.
