External Factors Evaluation of Malaysia Halal Logistics Industry

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the external environment factors that have an impact towards the Halal logistics industry in Malaysia. Halal is the biggest market in the world and is largely overlooked. Halal market is very lucrative, and Halal logistics is part of it. The external analysis on Halal logistics industry in Malaysia will be evaluated from the politic, economy, social and technology factors. This study uses the External Factor Evaluation (EFE) Matrix, a weighted score methodology that assign scores onto the factors as it is a technique used to assist organizations to recognize the opportunities and threats exist in an industry. From the analysis, this study uncovers 20 external factors that directly or indirectly influencing the Malaysia Halal logistics industry. This study is significant for researchers and professionals in order to have more knowledge on the environment and surroundings. Therefore, it is hopeful that this external analysis will be a reference and a platform for more research in the future. Finally, the study discussed future research directions, and limitations are drawn.
