A Dynamic Event Region Tracking Approach Based on Node Calibration

2019
The tracking technology is one of the most important research fields of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). However, this research is mostly used to track a single target, and there are few researches on continuously varying event region tracking. In addition, the energy limit of wireless nodes throttles the development of WSNs tracking technologies. Therefore, we start with reducing the energy consumption of the sensor nodes, and research on the continuously varying event region tracking method. We propose a dynamic event region tracking approach based on the node calibration which includes sensor node sleep-wake up mechanism and sensor node message feedback mechanism. Experimental results show that this method not only reduces the energy consumption, but also increases the region tracking accuracy. In consequence, the performance of tracking continuously varying event region is greatly improved.
