P-19: A New Small Sized Integrated Scan & Emission Driver for Compact AMOLED Displays

A new small sized integrated scan driver for small sized and high definition LCD and AMOLED display is proposed in this paper. By introducing a new simple circuit, the number of output buffers (n) of a scan driver shares only one shift register. Therefore, the number of total shift registers is reduced by 1/n and thus total area for scan driver is significantly reduced by 40 %. By applying the proposed circuit, a new small sized scan & emission driver is also proposed. This driver can precisely control the initial time for sampling of threshold voltage of DTFT in a pixel. The proposed drivers were verified by SPICE simulation by using LTPS P-type TFT models.
