Effects of Different Concentrations of Fluoride on the Contents of Ca,Mg and P in Rat Serum

2009
Objective: To assess the effect of different dosages of fluoride on Ca,Mg and P contents in rat Serum. Methods: Drinking water with various concentrations of sodium fluoride(0,125,250,500 mg/L) was given to rats for two months. And then, contents of Ca,Mg,P and activity of alkaline phosphatase(ALP) in rat serum were measured. Results: Compared with those in the control group, contents of Ca and Mg in the fluoride group had not been changed notably.P content and activity of ALP in the serum of groups treated with fluoride increased significantly. Conclusion: Fluorosis can induce metabolism unbalance of chemical elements in the serum.
