A two-channel L-band GaAs MMIC LNA module for Satellite Application

2020
A L-band (1.24GHz-1.58GHz) MMIC LNA module with a RF switch was introduced. The signal was received from antenna in one channel, and from Doppler receiver in another. Two low noise GaAs MMIC amplifier chips and a RF switch were used in the module. The two-channel switched LNA presents 32dB, 2.8dB, -33dBm and 0.2W of small-signal gain, noise figure, IP1db and power consumption, respectively. The in-band isolation level of the 2 channels when the RF switch was off was equals to 44dB. The LNA module was fabricated in a single package occupying area of 43mm ×41mm×16mm. The design, fabrication and the performance of the LNA module were discussed in this paper.
