The Statistical Character of Atmospheric Noise Temperature Induced by Rain at Millimeter Wave Band in Xi'an, China

The mechanism of troposphere producing noise to communication systems is in- vestigated, and the importance of the efiects is analyzed. The contribution of rain and other precipitate particles to antenna noise temperature is discussed. The annual CDFs (Cumulative Distribution Functions) of noise temperature and the reduction of G/T induced by rain at mil- limeter wave band in Xi'an, China are discussed under the orbital parameters of the satellites of Xinnuo-No. 1 etc. The possible efiects induced by atmospheric noise on MIMO system at millimeter wave band are analyzed. The results show that the rain-induced noise temperature can not be neglected. It is necessary to investigate the efiects of weather phenomena on antenna noise temperature in detail, for instance rain, snow, dust-storm and so on.
