Polymorphism of growth hormone gene and fitting of growth equation in Jinhua pigs.

The growth hormone gene of 114 Jinhua pigs was genotyped by PCR-RFLP method and its genetic effect on growth performance was also analyzed by SPSS 13.0 software,furthermore,the growth equation was fitted to growth performance data.The results showed that there were only genotypes AB(274 bp,238 bp and 137 bp) and BB(238 bp and 137 bp) in Jinhua pigs,with frequencies 0.60(BC) and 0.40(CC).There were no different effect of genotype AB and BB on the birth weight,1-month,2-month,3-month,5-month,6-month body and daily gain(P0.05),but BB genotype adividual was weighter than AB genotype adividual at 4-month(P0.05).The growth equation fit showed that Bertalanffy equation was the best.Compared genotype BB with AB growth curves,the BB genotype growed quickly at the early growth periods,the growth inflexion was early,and the weight of the growth inflexion was light.
