A uniqueness theorem for the two-dimensional generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation

Abstract Using elementary techniques we prove that the solution, which is periodic in both x and y , to the two-dimensional generalized KdV equation is unique. A theorem of continuous dependence of the solutions on the initial data is established. Some estimates of the solutions are also included.
