Study of the adsorption of chloride ions in the course of electrosorption of copper on platinized platinum electrodes
1973
Summary The adsorption of Cl − ions has been studied by a tracer method in the course of electrosorption of Cu 2_ ions on platinized platinum. By comparing the potential dependence of Cl − adsorption with and without addition of Cu 2+ it has been found that the adsorption of Cu 2+ ions was accompanied by that of Cl − ions in spite of the presence of a great excess of supporting electrolyte (1 M HClO 4 ). The conclusion has been drawn that the specific adsorption of anions might take place on the electrosorbed layer.
