A Novel Location-Based Routing Algorithm for Energy Balance in Wireless Sensor Networks
2009
Energy balance is an important design consideration in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In this paper, based on GPSR (Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing)[1], a novel location-based routing algorithm for energy balance in wireless sensor networks is proposed to improve the energy efficiency of the routing approach with respect to both of energy level and location information. Simulations show that the algorithm performs better than GPSR in terms of packet loss rate and successfully transmitted packets. And it can also prolong the lifetime of the sensor networks.
